Hal Stearns
Hal Stearns, a long-time high school and university educator, has made the study of the American West his vocation and avocation. He has traveled by horseback, canoe, four-wheel-drive and backpacked over many of the noteworthy historic trails and memorable sites of the West. The Lewis and Clark Expedition is his favorite. He studies it, knows it and loves it. Hal has been honored as Montana’s Teacher of the Year, Outstanding American History Teacher, and acclaimed for exemplary teaching by the U.S. West Corporation. He is a Montana native, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and earned his advanced degrees from the University of Montana.
