Ebony Peeni
Kia ora, my name is Ebony Peeni. I am an educator and storyteller based here in Te Tai Tokerau, Aotearoa (NZ). Currently, I am working at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, where I am fortunate enough to be able to share my passion for Māori culture and history with our local schools, Kura Kaupapa and visitors from all over the world.
My background in education and health has given me a deep understanding of the importance of cultural identity and the role that it plays in shaping our lives. Through my mahi (work) I hope to help others gain a greater appreciation for the rich and diverse history of the Māori culture and to inspire a sense of understanding and respect for different cultures and traditions. I believe that storytelling is one of the most powerful tools and am deeply passionate about sharing our puurakau (stories), Māori history & whakapapa Māori (Māōri history). It is something that is intrinsically a part of me, but also a way to form a connection with one another & build bridges between different communities, and I am honored to be able to share my stories with others.
Mauri ora!
