Adriana Aguirre

Adriana was born in Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador, on the Pacific coast. When she was only a year old, her parents moved to Galapagos where her father captained a small bay-tour boat. She returned to the mainland to finish school, but the islands were always calling her back. She was passionate about the ocean and wildlife, so she returned to Galapagos when she was 16. She became a rescue diver and worked coordinating tours in local dive shops.

Fulfilling a lifelong dream, she completed the Galapagos National Park Naturalist Guide’s Course in 2017. This allowed her to combine her love for the ocean and wildlife with her passion for the conservation of nature. As a mother of 3, she understands firsthand the importance of instilling the values of conservation in the next generation. Her love for the archipelago can be seen in her endless enthusiasm in the water and on the trails.
